A Hidden Gem
This past weekend Sweet Tooth Productions had the pleasure of creating a candy buffet for a pretty awesome group over at LoyaltyOne Inc., who was holding an Awards & Recognition Gala. Upon arriving at the event venue (which was Whister’s Grille in Toronto) we were a tad skeptical of the group’s venue choice. I say that we were skeptical only because when we hear the word “gala” we think fancy, and we expect to be setting up at a venue that is more on the upscale side. In pulling up to Whistler’s we saw more of a pub/casual dining establishment…
We entered the bar area and were directed upstairs to the McNeil Room, which is the private banquet hall on top of Whistler’s. Going up the staircase I couldn’t help but notice the wallpaper in the stairwell, it was chic and not at all reflective of the casual atmosphere that we just left behind. Upon entering the McNeil Room we were slightly taken aback because the room was surprisingly very nice!
The room’s decor was what immediately caught my eye, it was modern and stylish. It was a spot-on match for this upscale event! The mix of white, black, and grey’s present in the room play off of each other perfectly without giving the space a sterile cold feel (as those colours can sometimes do). The room has fantastic natural light during the day as there are walls of windows present. Some more details worth mentioning are: the walls have interesting texture, there is a private balcony patio for those wanting a bit of fresh air, and the in room bar is a great size. The team that put this room together obviously knew what they were doing!
This venue would be a great spot for a multitude of social/corporate events. Now, while we can’t say from first hand experience, we were told that Steve and his team are a pleasure to work with and are very accommodating. So the next time you’re looking for a spot to hold a special event, be sure to check out the McNeil Room at Whistler’s located at 995 Broadview Ave in Toronto (647 955 4832).
Sweetly Yours,
Jenell
